Would you like to transform old stuck patterns that are not useful to you? Or maybe you would just like a break from feeling in overwhelm.

Try Yoga Nidra/i Rest - no movement required.

Rhonda Gerhard, LMFT and Certified Yoga Therapist, will guide you through this deep relaxation practice where the conscious mind is in a state between waking and sleep. It is designed to help relax and resolve symptoms of sleeplessness, anxiety, fear, depression, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress, and many other things we encounter as human beings. This practice is an ancient, transformative meditative technique that can help people release self-destructive patterns and achieve psychological, physical, and spiritual healing.

We will begin with an inquiry into a particular theme or intention for the practice. The main part of the time will be given to the practice of Yoga Nidra. There is often time to briefly journal a word or two, so that you can refer back to your discoveries in the days and weeks to come.

The size of the group is limited to 8 or less so that we can maintain close and committed interactions with one another. Here’s what one person shared-“I leave each Yoga Nidra session better informed about myself and often with some thought provoking revelation that eventually provides additional insight.  Thank you Rhonda for deftly guiding these discoveries.  It's a wonderful practice.” -Pat Martin, Certified Massage Therapist

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ancient, transformative meditative technique that can help people release self-destructive patterns and achieve psychological, physical, and spiritual healing. It uses a form of deep relaxation where the conscious mind is in a state between waking and sleep. It is designed to help relax and resolve symptoms of sleeplessness, anxiety, fear, depression, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress, and many other things we encounter as human beings.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is the therapeutic technique of bilateral stimulation - stimulation to both sides of the brain through eye movements, hand taps, tactile and auditory stimulation, guided by the therapist, while the client concentrates on disturbing or upsetting emotional material. The movement is thought to affect the way memory is accessed and treated. The words "desensitization" and "reprocessing" refer to the fact that disturbing affect is rendered neutral by the technique. As noted by psychologist Dr. Laurel Parnell, EMDR "processes and releases information trapped in the body-mind, freeing people from disturbing images and body sensations, debilitating emotions, and restrictive beliefs." (from Transforming Trauma: EMDR, By Dr. Laurel Parnell, 1997).

Authentic Movement

Authentic Movement is a completely self-directed form of expression in which individuals discover a pathway that offers a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious.

With eyes closed, the mover listens inwardly and finds a movement arising from a hidden prompting, impulse, sensation, gesture, image or memory, following the inherent wisdom of the body. Thus, form is given to the content of direct authentic inner experience.

Authentic Movement explores the relationship between a mover and a witness, being seen and seeing. The witness brings a receptive quality of clear attention to the mover. Though personal shadow issues may emerge for both the mover and the witness, the witness accepts the mover without analysis or direction and speaks only when the mover asks for a response.

The mover and witness together can achieve a level of perception that evokes deep respect and empathy toward self and other.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses art materials, such as collage materials, paints, chalk and markers. Art therapy combines traditional psychotherapeutic theories and techniques with an understanding of the psychological aspects of the creative process, especially the affective properties of the different art materials.
